Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Barry Rhodes is the Acting Director of the Division of Emergency Preparedness and Response and the BioSense Program Manager, in the National Center for Public Health Informatics at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. His current focus is on the interface between health care institutions, health information exchanges and public health, leveraging existing infrastructure as well as development of new approaches to address a multitude of health IT needs for both the public and private sectors. Dr. Rhodes has served at CDC for over 16 years as a Computer Scientist. Prior to his CDC appointment, Dr. Rhodes was a faculty member in the Department of Physics at Clark Atlanta University and received his doctorate in Computational Physics from Emory University in 1983.
