Biographical Sketch:
2002-present – Toxicologist, Metro Public Health Department, Nashville, TN 2000-2002 - Postdoctoral Fellow, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX Develops policies and processes for emergency preparedness relating to accidental or deliberate release of chemical, biological, radiological, or explosive devices. Leads departmental efforts in environmental assessments, pest management activities, public health assessments, and environmental public health tracking. Serves as the director of the Indoor Environment Program, chair of Institutional Review Board, the principal investigator (PI) on an EPA asthma outreach grant and the PI for the department’s Common Ground project, sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Routinely involved in environmental public health education activities and featured in local media addressing environmental public health issues of concern in the community. Served as an expert witness on public health issues before the Tennessee State Legislature and in local courts. Served as a technical coordinator for EPA Region 4 Air Toxics data analysis in 2006. Adjunct Professor at Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN, and has functioned in a similar capacity in other colleges.
