Biographical Sketch:
Ninad Mishra is a Health Scientist working in National Center for Public Health Informatics (NCPHI). He received medical degree (MD) from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune; and Masters in Health Informatics from University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Ninad worked as intensive care physician and health management executive before joining CDC as Public Health Informatics Fellow (PHIF) in July 2005. His informatics related interests include surveillance system evaluation, predictive modeling, prediction market, decision support and infectious disease modeling. Ninad is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Surveillance Science Advisory Group (SurvSAG) evaluation subcommittee at CDC. Ninad is a member of American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) publication committee and serves on executive committee of AMIA’s data mining workgroup. Ninad’s current work is in the fields of information retrival, natural language processing, controlled vocabularies, and ontology. He is currently leading a project to explore the public health potentials of social networking sites.
