Biographical Sketch:
Thomas Dunnick has been associated with the Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene (WSLH) since 1975. After receiving his degree in Chemistry from Iowa State University, he began his career as a WSLH project analyst measuring total organic carbon in various environmental matrices. In the following years Mr. Dunnick had experience in most areas of Environmental analysis, and specialized in Gas Chromatographic analysis of various pesticides and PCB’s. During this time he also invested and increased his skills in IT related activities, and was a primary implementer of the Environmental LIMS. In 1987 he received his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin and shifted his responsibilities from analytic to Environmental IT. In 2001 he authored and implemented the current Environmental LIMS system. His focus changed in 2005 from Environmental to Clinical areas. He currently is involved with WEB and messaging technologies, particularly as they relate to Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR).
