Biographical Sketch:
2005-present – Software Engineer/Architect, subcontractor to Northrop Grumman Information Technology on assignment to the Centers for Disease Control, National Center for Public Health Informatics, Atlanta, GA 2003-05 – Software Architect, Armedia, Atlanta, GA 1999 - 2003 – Software Engineer, Sapient Corporation, Atlanta, GA Responsible for architectural design and development of PHIN-MS 2.9C Open Source Community Edition Researched, designed and developed a Natural Language Processing (NLP) application to collect, analyze, and classify the activity of specific social networking websites for risky behavior with respect to public health Designed and developed Web services, based on the .NET Web Communications Framework, that are utilized by applications agency wide to gather public health information from controlled data sources in a predicative way. Implemented and currently support the Wordpress blog software for use internally by all coordinating centers and many divisions within the agency. April 2009 – Presented Electronic Medical Records public health alerts prototype at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2008 - Participated in and placed fifth worldwide in a Natural Language Processing competition organized by the Partner’s HealthCare System in Boston, MA 2008 PHIN Conference presented Decision Augmentation Services prototype.
