Biographical Sketch:
John Stinn is a Public Health Informatics Specialist with Bearing Point Consultants working with health officials within the public and private sector to strategically plan and integrate public health information system. John completed Public Health Informatics Fellowship Program with CDC on June 30, 2001. John’s main responsibilities were to bring GIS capabilities to CDC’s Public Health Practice Program Office for Local Public Health Infrastructure initiatives. John also consulted with the National Immunization Program and World Health Organization to use GIS in measles surveillance operations in Mali, West Africa, and was an active participant in groups interested in GIS development at the CDC. John received his Masters of Marine Affairs and Policy, University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, where he worked with interdisciplinary teams to determine the economic, ecological, and human health impacts of marine toxin diseases, including Red Tide and Pfiesteria
