Biographical Sketch:
Mr. Davisson is the director of the Epidemiology, Health Statistics, and Public Health Laboratory Informatics Office; he has been with Washington State since April 2003. Mr. Davisson is overseeing the deployment, maintenance and operations of the Public Health Issues Management System (PHIMS) the Washington State National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) Base System equivalent, Public Health Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and Public Health Reporting of Electronic Data (PHRED) systems (Electronic Lab and Hospital reporting), Electronic Death Registry System and Comprehensive Hospital Abstract Reporting System (CHARS). Prior to coming to Washington State Department of Health, Mr. Davisson was with the New York State Department of Health where he was the New York State AIDS Surveillance Coordinator, then moving on to managing the building and implementation of the New York State Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS). This system has been in production for 5 years. Mr. Davisson has participated in the Centers for Disease Control’s National Electronic Disease Surveillance System project since its inception and was the New York State National Electronic Disease Surveillance System project manager. Mr. Davisson hosts and participates in the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists National Electronic Laboratory Reporting work, and continues to strive for the implementation of standards in the areas of Public Health Electronic Medical and Laboratory information exchange. He has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame.
