Biographical Sketch:
Scott Oster is a co-Director of the Software Research Institute (SRI) in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Ohio State University, wherein he helps coordinate the department’s software development projects towards the aim of high-quality reusable infrastructure. For the past several years he has acted as the Lead Architect for the caGrid project: a multi-institutional effort and the core grid middleware for the Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG™). Prior to coming to Ohio State in 2003, he worked at Cougaar Software Inc. as a Senior Computer Engineer working on several DARPA software research projects focusing on distributed intelligent agent technology. Before his work for Cougaar Software Inc., he held a Computer Scientist position at General Electric's Global Research Center in the Advanced Computing Technologies Laboratory. He received his M.S. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2002, and his BS in Computer Science from the University of Iowa in 2000.
