Biographical Sketch:
Rosa Ergas is an epidemiologist with the Navy Environmental Health Center, EpiData Center. She received her Master's of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in 2002. She worked researching the transmission dynamics of Staphylococcus aureus and served as a surveillance epidemiologist and laboratory reporting coordinator with the Bureau of Communicable Disease Control at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health where she conducted outbreak investigations, established and evaluated surveillance procedures, designed and conducted descriptive studies for local intervention planning, and evaluated immunization registries. As a civilian contractor with the Department of Navy, she currently leads efforts in evaluating and improving global antibiotic resistance surveillance for the Military Health System, develops and conducts epidemiological studies and investigations, and acts as a consultant and resource on infectious disease epidemiological issues.
