Biographical Sketch:
Mary Catherine Hess, MA is a Program Coordinator for OZ Systems. Her primary responsibility is the management and oversight of the contract for the Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program. From 2001 to 2008, she was the Program Administrator for the Rhode Island Hearing Assessment Program, Rhode Island’s newborn hearing screening program. In addition to her work in EHDI program and data management, she is also a certified ASL/English interpreter. She is very interested in issues related to communication access for deaf and hard of hearing people, including access to healthcare, assistive technology, and American Sign Language linguistics. She holds an MA in linguistics from Gallaudet University and a BS in communication disorders from the University of Texas at Austin.
