Biographical Sketch:
ohn Cutler is the Chief for Strengthening Country Systems of the Health Metrics Network (HMN), responsible for managing HMN's work at country level to accelerate reform of health information systems for improved health outcomes. Prior to joining HMN in 2009, Dr. Cutler was the Senior Manager for Performance and Strategic Information for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. He draws upon more than 35 years of clinical and public health practice working with universities, governments, non-governmental organizations, bilateral and multilateral agencies. Dr. Cutler is a public health physician with expertise in public health research, policy, strategic planning, program design and development, evaluation, and the development of health information systems. He has designed and managed programs for the World Health Organization, the US Agency for International Development, universities and non-governmental organizations. He has advised governments in Uganda, Eritrea, Swaziland, Lesotho and many other countries, primarily in Africa and Latin America.
