2009-present -- Associate Research Scientist, Columbia University, Department of Biomedical Informatics, New York, New York Researcher in the CDC-funded Public Health Center of Excellence collaboration between the Department of Biomedical Informatics, NYC Department of Health, and the Institute for Family Health. 2008-2009 – Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Columbia University, Department of Biomedical Informatics, New York, New York 2008-present -- Biomedical Informatics Researcher, New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, New York, New York Develop and research innovative healthcare IT solutions for deployment through the eClinicalWorks EHR software as part of the Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) development of a public health and prevention-oriented EHR solution being released to clinicians throughout New York City. 2003-2008 -- Biomedical Informatics Researcher, Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City, UT Designed, programmed, and deployed a geriatric clinical decision support prescribing module within Intermountain’s outpatient CPOE system. Evaluated the effectiveness of the module in a prospective, randomized clinical trial in 52 clinics. Author/presenter of multiple papers/abstracts on identifying inappropriate prescribing in elderly patients using EHR data, the use of decision support alerts to change provider prescribing, and the integration of medication histories into the EHR record.
