Biographical Sketch:
George Komatsoulis is Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer of the National Cancer Institute Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT), and as such has broad responsibility for the management of the NCI’s cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG®) program. He has a B.S. in microbiology from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from the California Institute of Technology. He did post-doctoral work in the Department of Biochemistry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Mathematics Department at the University of Southern California. Prior to joining the NCI, Dr. Komatsoulis was a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Human Genome Sciences, Inc. in Rockville, MD.
