Biographical Sketch:
August 2004–Present: Senior Epidemiologist, JHU/APL – ESSENCE Group, National Security Technology Department July 1996–Present: Assistant Scientist, JHU Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of International Health, Baltimore, MD April 1989–June 1996: Research Associate, JHU Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of International Health, Baltimore, MD Uses expertise in epidemiology, infectious disease and statistics to assist members of the ESSENCE team in epidemiologic/statistical analysis; design and review of visual, statistical and logical changes to the ESSENCE system(s); and writing white papers and proposals for new research. Also serves as project manager for electronic surveillance efforts in GEIS funded project in the Philippines and for a project developing software to estimate outbreak impact and hospital surge for CBRNE events. Before joining JHU/APL, served as PI, project coordinator, and consulting epidemiologist for studies and clinical trials for preventive treatment for tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
