Biographical Sketch:
Bonnie Barnard is the Surveillance Epidemiologist and Section Supervisor for the Communicable Disease Epidemiology Program at the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. She has worked in the field of infection prevention and control for 25 years and has been certified in infection control by the Certification Board of Infection Control since 1984. She received a BS in Health Planning and Administration from the Pennsylvania State University and an MPH in Communicable Disease Control from the University of Texas School of Public Health. She has presented to public and professional organizations on numerous infection control and prevention topics including: surgical site infections; surveillance; epidemiology; MRSA; collaborative approaches to disease control; emerging infectious diseases and the analysis, visualization and reporting of epidemiologic data. In addition, she has published in the American Journal of Infection Control. She is currently a member of the Council on State and Territorial Epidemiologists, Montana Public Health Association and the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). She has served on the national and local board of directors for APIC. In addition, she has been an editorial reviewer for the American Journal of Infection Control.
