2007-present -- Messaging Specialist / Software Engineer, Nebraska Public Health Laboratory, Omaha, NE
Responsible for developing HL7 implementation guides for a project (Public Health Laboratory Interoperability Project – PHLIP) co-sponsored by APHL and the CDC, including one guide for exchanging orders and results with neighboring/partner laboratories during surge/overflow situations and another guide for exchanging orders and results between state public health laboratories and the CDC.
Contributed to development of the PHLIP project’s HL7 message guide for influenza reporting: Message Guide for Influenza Test Result Reporting by Public Health Laboratories.
Contributed to development of the CDC/CSTE HL7 message guide for ELR: Public Health Lab Result Message/ELR Specification.
