Biographical Sketch:
Susan M. Salkowitz, MGA, has a 40+ year career in public service and consulting: 32 years with the City of Philadelphia in various information technology roles, ending as Director of Health Information Systems, Department of Public Health; and since 1993, a consulting practice, Salkowitz Associates, LLC which includes IIS, maternal and child care case management, public health surveillance, chronic disease management and health information exchange. IIS Clients include: New Jersey AKC (Immunization Registry Project Manager), California Department of Health Services, New York City CIR, Minnesota Department of Health, Louisiana Office of Public Health, Los Angeles County Health Department, Sacramento Shots for Tots Regional Coalition, IIS assessments for grantees in Philadelphia, Washington, Kentucky, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Utah, including a vaccine financing study in VT in 07-08; Public Health Informatics Institute (PHII): consultant for various projects including the study Deduplication Technology and Practices for Integrated Child Health Information Systems (2003), and for the Unique Records Portfolio (2006). She is an Adjunct Senior Fellow, Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, University of Pennsylvania, and Senior Scholar at Thomas Jefferson University- she conducts workshops on Public Health Informatics for both; a member of APHA, PPHA, AMIA, and HIMSS, of the PA eHealth Initiative, and Board Member ex officio of the American Immunization Registry Association ( 4 terms). AIRA Board activities include PROW, MIROW (2), represent AIRA on the Public Health Data Standards Consortium Board, at PHIN and other external partners. Served as facilitator of the NE Regional Conference whose work is being presented.
