Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe which herpes tests to order, how to interpret the results, describe various treatment options, and explain the results to the patient. Also the participants will be able to discuss the newest herpes testing guidelines including those from the American Social Health Association (ASHA Herpes Testing Toolkit, 2nd edition, 2005) and the CDC (2006 STD Treatment Guidelines).
