IPP Infrastructure Measures of Effectiveness: Preliminary Data and Next Steps

Kelly Morrison Opdyke, Cicatelli Associates Inc, 505 Eighth Avenue, Sixteenth Floor, New York, NY, USA

In 2007, CDC implemented two IPP infrastructure measures of effectiveness designed to monitor chlamydia screening coverage and test utilization by age group in family planning clinics in relation to national age-based screening criteria. In HHS Region II, data from these measures indicate that little, if any age-based targeting of chlamydia screening is occurring, despite national guidelines and low positivity rates in older females. IPP infrastructures in several HHS regions have begun to respond to these measures by seeking to replicate studies conducted to evaluate the prevalence of chlamydia among women over age 25 and risk factors predictive of infection.
