Biographical Sketch:
2005-present - Women’s Health Coordinator, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Division of STD Prevention, Boston, MA 2002-2005 - Program Director, New Bedford Family Planning, Health Care of Southeastern Massachusetts, New Bedford, MA 2001 - American Schools of Public Health Internship, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Adolescent and School Health 1997-99 - Youth Group Facilitator and Youth Outreach Worker, YWCA of Western Massachusetts Responsible for research initiatives, coordinate study protocols, and evaluate data for projects focusing on women and STDs, including the Human Papillomavirus Sentinel Surveillance study, funded by the Centers for Disease Control (current). Presenter and creator of accessible and accurate trainings for providers, community organizations, and the general public in support of statewide STD prevention (current). Oversaw community-based clinic providing comprehensive, multilingual family planning counseling, STD screening, reproductive health care, and HIV counseling and testing to the greater New Bedford community (2002-2005). Reviewed research literature and synthesized findings to develop a model on health risk behaviors among LGBT youth (2001). Massachusetts Department of Public Health Performance Award, as member of the HIV/STD/Hepatitis Integrated Counseling and Testing Workgroup (2007).
