Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Vic Spain is a public-health veterinarian who heads the Epidemiology Unit for the Division of Disease Control, Philadelphia Department of Public Health. Dr. Spain has a doctorate in epidemiology and a background in statistics. As head of the Epidemiology Unit, Dr. Spain oversees the epidemiological activities of all the Division programs, including public-health surveillance initiatives and research studies. Dr. Spain serves as advisor to the Varicella Active Surveillance Program and oversees many analytic functions of the Immunization Program in Philadelphia.
Dr. Spain teaches epidemiology for the MPH program at Thomas Jefferson University and is a frequent lecturer at other Universities in Philadelphia.
