Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Chow has been a faculty member (Specialist) in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at The University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine for 5 years, and epidemiologist in the CA DHS-STD Control Branch for 8 years. She received her MPH and DrPH degrees from University of California, Los Angeles, followed by postdoctoral training and Assistant Research Epidemiologist appointment through the Chlamydia Research Laboratory, University of California, San Francisco. Her areas of interest have been in evaluation of new chlamydia diagnostic technologies, reproductive health complications associated with chlamydia infections in women, chlamydia and gonorrhea prevalence monitoring in family planning populations and development of screening guidelines, and evaluation of quality improvement interventions aimed at increasing chlamydia screening, and other STD quality measures. She oversees a team of epidemiologists at the STD Control Branch who analyze STD surveillance data for the development of STD control strategies for statewide and local implementation.
