Biographical Sketch:
May 2004 - Current--Chief, Disease Intervention Section (DIS), CA DHS STD Control Branch: Leadership and direction of disease intervention activities, in the California Project area; Supervision and direction of Disease Intervention Section including programs and staff assigned to regional offices and HIV PCRS units; Oversight and coordination of the California Disease Intervention Training Program; Technical assistance to local health officials in program planning, policy development and evaluation of disease intervention activities; Technical and direct assistance to local health jurisdictions in the implementation and evaluation of enhanced surveillance, disease intervention, partner services activities and outbreak response; Development of curriculum for Field Investigation Training for infectious Disease Emergency Preparedness, Integration of STD & HIV Partner Services, and Internet Partner Notification. February 2000 - September 2005 --Chief, Program Development Section, CA DHS STD Control Branch: Supervision of program development liaisons in managed care, corrections, border-binational health, maternal and child health, and program evaluation; Technical assistance to STD Controller Association in development of program standards; Conducted strategic planning, grants management. April 1998 - February 2000--Managed Care Liaison, CA DHS STD Control Branch: Collaborated with CA Medi-Cal and health plans to enhance STD screening and treatement; Assisted in coordination of California Chlamydia Action Coalition efforts. July 1996-April 1998--Regional Manager, Field Services Section, CA DHS Local Assistance Branch: Responsible for oversight of STD case management activities and maintentance of STD surveillance systems; Coordinated outbreak response activities for TB, and other CDs.
