Biographical Sketch:
Johnnie Green III is the Syphilis elimination and Congenital Syphilis Coordinator with the Michigan Department of Community Health at the Department of Health and Wellness Promotion STD Surveillance and Intervention Unit. He has worked as a Disease Intervention Specialist for the past 5 years and became the syphilis elimination and congenital syphilis coordinator in March 2009. His responsibilities include Identifying locations, coordinating and participating in meetings, webinars, outreaches and screenings conducted by STD staff. He also negotiates and monitors contracts with community based organizations participating in syphilis elimination activities. He is involved in the development of new strategies based on syphilis morbidity and submits reports on current syphilis elimination activities. In addition, Johnnie is also responsible for the reporting, treatment and diagnosis of mothers and infants with positive serologies as the congenital syphilis coordinator.
