While in Miami, Steve served as an STD clinic front-line supervisor, the Little River (night) clinic manager, and a surveillance unit manager. In May 1999, he was selected for the senior PHA position in Maine, where he was a cross-program public health advisor for the STD, HIV, and TB prevention programs, providing technical assistance and consultation regarding program operations and evaluation.
