Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Wilton is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Human Development and Africana Studies at the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) at the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Wilton specializes in the areas of health disparities (HIV and AIDS); community-based research and evaluation; and Black psychological development and mental health. His scholarly research has focused on the impact of socio-cultural factors as related to sexual/drug risk and protective behavior and mental health for Black MSM. Dr. Wilton completed a three-year postdoctoral research fellowship at New York University, doctoral degree in counseling psychology at NYU, and a pre-doctoral clinical psychology fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine. He also completed a postdoctoral summer research fellowship at the University of Michigan.
