Biographical Sketch:
Working in the field of HIV/AIDS for over 25 years in areas of program development, policy, administration and direct services. For the past seven years have focused on the integration of HIV and STD in community settings. This has involved developing screening program for gay men/msm in bathhouses and offering of STD screening in routine HIV testing sites. Much of the work has focused on gay men/msm which led to spearheading a internal Gay Men’s workgroup. The resulting document outlining a series of recommendations was the foundation for a state-wide Gay men.msm Forum in 2006. The Forum produced a document “Prescription for Change” which was presented as a roundtable presentation at the 2007 Prevention Summit. Over the past four years efforts have been devoted toward developing guidelines and policies for utilization of the internet and new technologies for HIV/STD prevention and care. The result has been the development and implementation of statewide guidelines for IPN and Outreach Interventions. Work is currently underway to determine how best to utilize text messaging, twitter and wigets in various public health campaigns.
