Biographical Sketch:
Pamela Whittle is a Public Health Representative with the Baltimore City Health Departments STD/HIV Prevention Department. Ms. Whittle has been involved in both field investigation and case management of both HIV and Syphilis patients. For the past three years, Ms. Whittle has been performing the duties as a Gonorrhea and Chlamydia Coordinator. Her duties are to ensure that Baltimore City experiences a reduction in the incidence of Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. She ensures that public and private providers report Gonorrhea morbidity and treatment in a timely manner. She ensures that Laboratories report Gonorrhea and Chlamydia in a timely manner. She verifies Gonorrhea treatment to determine if field follow up is needed for untreated Gonorrhea. She participates in and attends Region III Chlamydia project meetings. She hosts Local Infertility Prevention meetings with Family Planning providers to update them on the information presented at the Regional meeting. She serves as the Baltimore City Health Departments Representative for the Internet project for home Chlamydia screening using self-administered vaginal swabs.
