Biographical Sketch:
2008 to present -- Project Director, Healthy Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Students Project, managing an HIV prevention cooperative agreement between the American Psychological Association (APA) and the CDC Division of Adolescent and School Health (CDC-DASH). 2002-08 -- Project Director, Safe and Healthy Schools Project, managing HIV prevention and health eating cooperative agreements between the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) and CDC-DASH. 1991-2002 -- Project Associate, Safe and Healthy Schools Project, assisting with all aspects of an HIV prevention cooperative agreement between NASBE and CDC-DASH. 1986-89 -- Assistant Secretary of Education, Ministry of Education, Republic of the Marshall Islands, assisting with all aspects of departmental policymaking and operations. 1983-86 -- Health Education Specialist, Ministry of Education, Republic of the Marshall Islands, developing school health curriculum materials. 1979-82 -- School/Community Health Educator, US Peace Corps program in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, providing community education and school staff professional development. Primary author of numerous school health policy guides including "Someone at School has AIDS" (1985 and 2001 editions), "How Schools Work and How to Work with Schools" (2006 edition), and "Fit, Healthy, and Ready to Learn: A School Health Policy Guide" (ten chapters published at various times 1996-2008). Numerous presentations at public health meetings and education leadership meetings and conferences. Rewriting the school staff development workshop on "Preventing Health Risks and Promoting Healthy Outcomes Among LGBQ Youth"
