Biographical Sketch:
Directs the day-to-day operations of the County HIV/AIDS/STD prevention and care programs including the development and implementation of program activities and projects. Supervises program staff and interacts with senior management, community partners, political leaders and other local / state health departments. Develops, conducts and analyzes performance indicators for continuous quality improvement. Oversees and coordinates the development of written materials, newsletters, fact sheets, briefs and Internet-based materials. Develops funding applications to federal, state and local agencies in addition to non-profit and health-focused foundations. Previously served as the HIV Prevention Regional Lead Agent serving the seven collar counties (surrounding Cook County) in northeastern Illinois. Responsible for management of a $1.02m grant serving a population of nearly 3 million people with twelve subcontractors. Represented the interests of the region for local, state and national funding and policy development. Maintained an active community advisory board charged with needs assessment, priority setting and funding allocation for the region. Established protocol to mainstream reporting functions in the region and strengthen contractor relations with the agency. Assisted with capacity building, training and development with HIV prevention programs and services. Previous experience working with data systems and system structures on both Windows and Mac based platforms. Microsoft Systems Engineer studied, but not certified and over 15 years experience working with and creating / implementing data collections systems.
