Biographical Sketch:
HIV counseling and testing in-office and at locations throughout Lake County that attract individuals at high-risk of HIV infection, including substance abuse treatment facilities, homeless shelters, and other community based sites
Provide health education and risk reduction counseling for HIV positive patients in LCHD/CHC Medical Management Clinic including specific health information to patients who are interesting in having children
HIV and STD surveillance activities, including partner notification, counseling and referral
Responsible for syphilis surveillance in Lake County including accurate and timely reporting to state agencies and assisting with disease prevention, treatment and elimination
Communicate and maintain relationships with local providers to assure surveillance reporting and provide assistance and education as requested
Develop and implement an educational curriculum for female inmates at the Lake County Jail including sessions on HIV/STD Prevention, hepatitis and reproductive health
Facilitate a support group for Spanish speaking individuals living with HIV
Organize and implement a continual education program for individuals living with HIV and their affected family, friends and caretakers, including development of marketing materials and eliciting donations and support from pharmaceutical companies
Conduct STD education and prevention services for individuals seeking STD testing and treatment
