Biographical Sketch:
Before joining the SIU faculty, Kovach was a staff physician and the assistant medical director of the emergency department at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She completed an internal medicine residency and earned her medical degree at SIU School of Medicine (1979, 1976). Kovach is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society and the American College of Physicians.
