Biographical Sketch:
2008-current – Data manager at the Health Informatics & Integrated Surveillance Systems, Division of Disease Prevention, Office of Epidemiology, Virginia Department of Health, Richmond, VA
Responsible for data management of various data systems at the division of disease prevention; data collection using various methods, data entry, import data from various database systems (SQL Server, Access, Excel, flat files and SAS datasets), ensure data integrity, Data quality check and validation, Data analysis using SAS, SQL, MS Excel, MS Access and SPSS, quality assurance, data matching, data transfer and integration using data base system’s functionalities such as DTS and SSIS in SQL Server, generate and share many data summaries and statistical reports on a regular basis for the surveillance program in addition to data requests for other internal or external stakeholders.
Responsible for managing of various database management systems; manage users and their access permission to the system(s), security and administration, monitor the database systems and its application to make sure it is running and available at all times, perform installation and updates to those systems when recommended by CDC, report systems’ errors and enhancement requests to CDC when necessary . Design, develop, test, implement, monitor and maintain databases as needed or when requested.
