Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Eshleman has an MD and a PhD in Human Genetics. She completed Residency Training in Clinical Pathology (Laboratory Medicine) with subspecialty training in Transfusion Medicine. She is the Director of the HIV Genotyping Lab, and Associate Director of the HIV Specialty Laboratory and the Johns Hopkins Hospital Blood Bank. Her research program includes basic, translational, and clinical HIV research, and is focused on HIV diversity, HIV drug resistance, and HIV prevention. She is the Principal Investigator for Network Laboratory of the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN), and Principal Investigator for the Virology Specialty Laboratory for the International Maternal, Pediatric and Adolescent Clinical Trials Group.
