Biographical Sketch:
2005 - Present: Chief, Center for STI Prevention, Maryland Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene, Baltimore MD Actively promote collaboration with HIV/AIDS and major jurisdictions with high morbidity to improve STD/HIV services; coordinate with Family Planning and State Laboratory to maximize chlamydia and gonorrhea screening and interventions with limited resources; coordinate with Corrections for onsite STATlab project in a major correctional facility; technical assistance to local health departments to maintain critical STI functions. 2011 Board Chair, National Coalition of STD Directors 2005 - Present, Member, National Coalition of STD Directors 1991 - 2005 Division Chief, Lead Poisoning Prevention, Maryland Department of the Environment Baltimore MD. Assisted with the development, implementation, and enforcement of one of the nation's only residential lead paint hazard reduction statutes. Assisted with statutes and implementation for electronic lab reporting for blood lead test results. Staffed the Governor's Lead Poisoning Prevention Commission. 1986-1991 Division Chief, Asbestos Safety and Health, Maryland Department of the Environment. Oversaw the development and implementation of early "management in place" procedures for small scale asbestos projects which were later adopted into EPA guidance; developed and oversaw system to prioritize and institutionalize asbestos removal for state buildings; managed medical monitoring and training contracts for state employees working with asbestos; staffed the Governor's Asbestos Oversight Commission; 1973 -1985 Clinical care and supervision in Intensive Care and Emergency Room, urban and rural hospitals.
