Biographical Sketch:
Georgia Department of Human Resources, Atlanta, GA November 2006-Present Division of Sexually Transmitted Diseases Program Consultant II •Serve as the primary point of contact for all communication between the STD section and the health districts, local health departments, community based organizations and correctional facilities for the Syphilis Elimination Effort. •Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures, protocols, and guidelines, that relate to STD prevention services •Communicate essential programmatic information, and identifies the needs and resources necessary to provide adequate, quality disease control services •Facilitate monthly Syphilis Elimination Effort meetings •Monitor grantee’s expenses and productivity against contract deliverables for the Syphilis Elimination in High Risk Males RFP. •Serve as the representative for syphilis elimination within the state and with various public, nonprofit, and private agencies, institutions and organizations to provide expertise, guidance, and leadership on matters relating to the improvement of syphilis elimination activities. Georgia Department of Human Resources, Atlanta, GA March 2006-November 2006 STD Surveillance Coordinator—Supervisory Training •Conducted active surveillance, utilized STD/MIS and SENDSS for all reportable STDs. •Documented suspected outbreaks and augmented timely disease interventions or epidemiologic investigations within Dekalb County. •Utilized STD/MIS to create weekly reports to identify disease trends within a specific zip code and target communities for elimination or eradication of a specified STD(s). •Made visits and/or telephone calls to key reporting sources such as clinicians, other districts, and laboratories on a regular or episodic basis to elicit case reports and/or review medical records and other alternative sources to identify diagnoses that may not have been reported.
