Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Mayer is the Medical Director of the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, which targets its services at the needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. Dr. Mayer is a board-certified internist and a certified HIV Specialist. He was graduated from the State University of New York at Albany, the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital – where he also served as a Chief Resident in 2000. Dr. Mayer has been providing medical care at Callen-Lorde since 1997 and has lectured extensively and internationally on LGBT health, transgender care, HIV care and anal cancer screening and prevention.
