Biographical Sketch:
John Copeland has worked in HIV since 1986, when he founded the Stop AIDS Chicago Project. In Los Angeles, he was the Director of Prevention Programs at LA Shanti for 8 years, followed by 7 years of behavioral research work at Health Research Association, focusing on HIV + alcohol and drug use among gay men, as well as qualitative studies of young gay men. He currently works for the Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Health. He tested positive for HIV in 1989.
