Senior manager playing a leadership role in helping to reduce the burden of STDs in California by providing direction, mentorship and oversight to a multidisciplinary team of public health professionals in planning, implementing, evaluating, and improving public health projects and interventions across the state.
Initiates, organizes, and directs original research studies that are epidemiologic or operational in nature, and relates relevant findings to the development and improvement of STD control programs and public health policies.
Provides programmatic consultation to private and public sector partner organizations; oversees the development of best practice documents and provider tools to improve the quality of STD-related clinical services; partners and consults with public health officers and STD controllers in local governments to support local initiatives; collaborates with state and national agencies to provide specialized expertise and technical assistance; and ensures that preventive and clinical services for key California target populations (e.g., adolescents, women, and men who have sex with men [MSM]) are coordinated and represent best practices.
