Biographical Sketch:
Helen Burnside works at the Denver STD/HIV Prevention Traning Center (PTC) as the National Resource Coordinating Center Coordinator for the National Network of Prevention Training Centers. Previously, she was a Senior Training Specialist for the Denver PTC behavioral and clinical trainings. She is the coordinator for prevention curriculums that assist HIV care providers in reducing their clients’ risk for HIV transmission and the acquisition of STDs. Helen acquired a Masters Degree in Health Promotion from the University of Montana in Missoula. She assisted with the development, implementation, and evaluation of a community-wide HIV prevention social marketing campaign and was an evaluation specialist for the Department of Health and Human Services in Montana. Helen is a certified health education specialist. She has also worked on the development and delivery of international curricula and an array of community health promotion programs.
