Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Cavalier comes to headquarters from Los Angeles where she served as the Lead Public Health Advisor for Los Angeles County Division of HIV/STD Programs doing contract monitoring, program management and STD case management quality assurance. Prior to working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Cavalier served as a project officer for the AIDS Education Training Centers and Peer Education Training Sites/Resource Evaluation Center Program at the Health Resource and Services Administration HIV/AIDS Bureau. Prior to coming to the Federal Government, she worked in the State of Maryland in the fields of teen pregnancy and HIV prevention at the state and local level. She received her Doctorate in Public Health from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD; her Master’s in Public Health in Health Communication and Education from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, LA; and her Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from Xavier University in New Orleans, LA.
