Biographical Sketch:
June 2007–Present, Health Scientist, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH). Oversaw a 5-year evaluation contract to provide evaluation assistance to school districts and community-based organizations for four distinct projects, including an evaluation of coordinated school health programs, an asthma management programs, and two projects focused on HIV and STD prevention among teens. Participated in all aspects of evaluation design, implementation, and dissemination, including: engaging relevant stakeholders, selecting research questions, choosing appropriate research designs, data collection, working with local site coordinators, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, preparing evaluation reports, disseminating findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations. August 2006–May 2007, Assistant Professor, Health Education, Department of Health, Physical Education, & Sport Sciences, Morehead State University. Taught courses on Foundations of Health and Physical Education, Safety and First Aid, and Psychological Health; Provided instruction, prepared syllabi and exams, used a variety of teaching strategies, evaluated student performance. Provided service to the university and community. August 2003–May 2006, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Department of Health and Kinesiology. Texas A&M University. Taught undergraduate courses such as Health and Fitness Step Aerobics, Health and Fitness Aerobic Walking, and Aerobic Walking. Provided fitness activity instruction, prepared lessons and exams, used a variety of teaching strategies, arranged guest speakers, graded assignments and exams. June 2004–September 2005, Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Health and Kinesiology, Texas A&M University. Member of a four-person research team that conducted a state-wide evaluation of sexuality-related programs in Texas. Evaluation funded by a grant from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Organized and managed data, communicated with research partners/participants, purchased supplies, organized meetings between the research team and research partners, worked with Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects, analyzed data, compiled reports of results, authored manuscripts for publication, presented data at professional conferences, and assisted with problem-solving as necessary. August 2001–May 2003, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Department of Health and Kinesiology, Purdue University. Taught undergraduate courses in Sexuality and Human Health, Healthy Lifestyles, and Health Behavior and Health Promotion. In her career, Dr. Rasberry has published 11 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, 2 book chapters, and 8 evaluation or government reports, and she has been an author on 39 peer-reviewed presentations.
