Research Assistant 2011 – 2012 Crossroads Clinic, Jackson Medical Mall, Jackson, MS Project Title: Prevalence and predictors of concurrent sexual partnerships in a predominantly African American population in Jackson, Mississippi Supervisors: Amy Nunn, ScD, MS & Leandro Mena, MD, MPH Description: The purpose of this investigation was to assess prevalence and correlates of concurrent sexual partnerships in patients at an urban sexually transmitted infection (STI) clinic in Jackson, Mississippi. Duties: Data collection Research Assistant 2006 – 2007 Jackson State University, Department of Psychology Project Title: Risk factors associated with HIV testing among African American students at a HBCU Supervisor: Bryman E. Williams, Ph.D. Description: The primary purpose of this study is to examine gender differences relating to HIV testing behaviors among students at a historically black university. Principal Investigator 2005 – 2006 Jackson State University, Department of Sociology Project Title: The role of spirituality in African American college male students Supervisor: CoSandra McNeal, Ph.D. Description: The purpose of this study was to explore the role of spirituality of African-American college males attending a historically Black university. This research replicated a study conducted by Dr. Michael K. Herndon. Herndon researched the role of spirituality in the life of African-American college males at a predominately white institution.
