As Medical Director of the JCDH STD Clinic, Dr. Schwebke is responsible for overseeing the delivery of medical care as performed by 8 full-time nurses as well as the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows from UAB and surrounding institutions. Administratively she conducts bi-monthly management meetings with the senior management team and has been directly responsible for the initiation of new programs such as hepatitis B immunization of adolescents attending the STD Clinic, cervical cancer screening for women and screening for STDs in incarcerated women. Additionally, Dr. Schwebke devotes an average of 4-8 hours per week to direct patient care at this facility.
