Biographical Sketch:
2011-present - Program Supervisor/CARS Grant Manager, Virginia Department of Health, Richmond CIty Health District - Provides program oversight and management of staff, schedules, and work load for the STI/HIV team on a daily basis independently and in cooperation with the Medical Director, Nursing Supervisors, and other disciplines that are involved in providing STI/HIV services. Keeps supervisor informed regarding team work load, controversial issues, and community outreach/education activities and other aspects of the work plan. Sets goals in collaboration with supervisor and other members of the work team. Informs Supervisor of sensitive staff issues, political or controversial issues, and media contacts 2009-2010 Contract Monitor, Virginia Deparment of Health, HIV Care Services - Monitors contracts and provides technical assistance to agencies and contractors receiving federal and state funds for the provision of HIV related health care and support services, including contracts for Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act Part B and the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), and state-funded services. Manages all aspects of the request for proposals, memorandum of agreement or sole source procurement process for HIV related health care and support services. Develops and completes special projects by organizing and coordinating information and requirement to include the planning, arranging, meeting schedules, and monitoring project results. 2006-2009 - Coordinator of Infectious Disease - University of Texas Medical Branch, Correctional Managed Care - Managed the unit’s Communicable Infectious Disease department, as well as monitored and reviewed Infection Control policies and procedures. Performed Tb skin testing, administered scheduled injections and immunizations as ordered for treatment of various chronic illnesses and diseases. Coordinated access to client services with local and state agencies. Provided discharge planning services to all clients releasing from the facility. Completed thorough needs assessment and review of clients’ needs and identified community resources and services necessary for successful release from prison. Planned, coordinated and tracked all referrals and follow up into services upon release. Established and maintained professional relationships with local and state agencies and organizations to foster successful transition of clients. Provided patient education to clients diagnosed with various communicable diseases and participated in development of care plans and client goals
