Biographical Sketch:
I am board certified obstetrics and gynecology specialist and a researcher in the fields of HIV/STI epidemiology at Universidade Federal do Espirito Santo. I had been in charge of the Brazilian MoH training for physicians and nurses on the syndromic approach of STI treatment since 1998, training 400 health professionals from Espirito Santo, other Brazilian states, and Latin-America. In 2008, also began collaboration with the Tropical Medicine Foundation in Amazonas to support research training for health care professionals, building courses in research methods and scientific writing, based on the UCSF curriculum. Nowadays I am external advisor for reproductive planning and STIs Control for Brazilian MoH. As PI, I will oversee the development plan, including implementation and of all study aims and the application for the training program. I am professor at Department of Social Medicine and engaged at the Post-graduation Program in Infectious diseases since 2002. Last August I was elected President of the Brazilian Society for STD.
