Biographical Sketch:
• Develop Epidemiological Surveillance about Neisseria gonorrhoeae resistance, Adapted and implemented an intervention to reduce STD and HIV prevalence among groups at highest risk of HIV infection in Honduras (Female Sex Workers and Men have sex with other Men). o Used a three pronged approach that included control (diagnosis and treatment) of sexually transmitted infections (STI), behavioural change and condom promotion. o Based on a successful program in Bolivia, lessons learned were shared contributed to implement similar projects in Honduras; • Conducted and implemented the second generation HIV epidemiological surveillance course to train the health provider of Honduran Ministry of Health. o Provide technical assistance to Ministry of Health to develop the contents of the Data for Decision Making Course (DDM) o Teach the health providers of different regions of Honduras in HIV Epidemiological Surveillance of Second Generation o Promoted data-driven decisions and the improvement of National AIDS Program in Honduras. • Designed and implemented integrated the maternal and neonatal syphilis Project in Bolivia to determinate the prevalence and conduct the acceptability and feasibility to implement the rapid syphilis test in 5 urban departments and 37 rural areas o Coordinated the maternal and Neonatal Syphilis Project in Bolivia o Implemented the rapid test to syphilis diagnosis in urban and rural areas of Bolivia as part of Universal Insurance to Pregnant Women how policy of Health in Bolivia. o Publish five papers about the syphilis in pregnant women and congenital syphilis in Bolivia.
