Biographical Sketch:
Harrell W. Chesson is a health economist in the Division of STD Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He came to CDC in 1996 as a Prevention Effectiveness Fellow. He has authored numerous articles in the fields of STD and HIV prevention, alcohol and substance abuse and risky sexual behavior, and decision making under uncertainty. His work has been published in economics, public health, and medical journals such as the Journal of Law & Economics, the American Journal of Public Health, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and AIDS. He has presented on several occasions to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) on issues related to the cost-effectiveness of HPV vaccination.
