2008-present--Laboratory Manager, Columbus Public Health Department, Columbus, Ohio 1999-2008--Medical Technologist, Columbus Public Health Department, Columbus, Ohio 1997-1999--Acting Laboratory Manager, Total Med Labs, Columbus, Ohio 1997-1999--Technical Supervisor, Total Med Labs, Columbus, Ohio 1996--1997--Lead Medical Technologist, Total Med Labs, Columbus, Ohio 1993-1996--Medical Technologist, Total Med Labs, Columbus, Ohio ASCP, NCA certified, August 1993 Oversees the basic operations of the laboratory, including but not limited to budgetary/fiscal issues, quality assurance, quality control, attendance management, scheduling, ordering/purchasing, proficiency testing, lab testing, computer management, information systems, policies, procedures, employee performance appraisals and productivity. Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of the CLIA regulations and EPA compliance. Successfully passed the bi-annual inspections 3 times since my tenure here with little or no deficiencies. Instrumental in standardizing the lab processes and procedures amongst the Clinics within the Health Department to assure that all federal regulations are met. Performed GC/CHLY testing using DNA amplification with the Aptima Tigris system, as well as the PACE system. Experience with the following chemistry analyzers: Kodak Ektachem, ACA, CX5, CX3, ACS – 180, Stratus, osmometer, auto carrousel, TDX, NOVA, HPLC, ASTRA and various chemistry procedures such as electrophoreses, sweat chlorides, amniotic fluid tests, RIA, Hepatitis, HIV and blood gas. HIV testing using both ELISA and the rapid methodology (oraquick & unigold) Performed cell counts (both automated and manual), sedimentation rates, preparing blood smears and fluid slides, operation of the coulter counter, Baker 9000, and the cell dyne. Performed routine testing for syphilis, mono, rheumatoid arthritis, C-reactive protein, cold agglutinins, ANA, anti_DNA, anti-smooth muscle, and anti- mitochondrial antibodies, and darkfields.
