Biographical Sketch:
2015-present: Epidemiologist, CDC, National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, Atlanta, GA Responsible for national gonorrhea surveillance and assessment of trends in the US. Implementing enhanced surveillance for antimicrobial resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae in international settings through partnership with WHO. Deploys as needed to Liberia as a rapid responder for Ebola response or as part of CDC's Rapid Response Team to assist internationally for other outbreaks. 2005-2015: Epidemiologist, CDC, National Center for Immunizations and Respiratory Diseases, Atlanta, GA Coordinated a multi-state, active, laboratory, population-based surveillance system for 6 bacterial pathogens in the US as part of CDC's Emerging Infections Program (EIP) called the Active Bacterial Core surveillance system (ABCs). Performed special study analyses on group B Streptococcus and helped prepare the 2010 GBS prevention guidelines and was a co-author of additional early-onset GBS work. Deployed to assist with Ebola related response in Nigeria and Liberia. Deployed domestically to assist with pertussis outbreaks in Washington state and California.
